If you are in town visiting and looking for a place to play some pool and a drink, avoid this place at all costs.
In town for the NFL game and tried to go here, won’t accept out of state ID, wants a passport. My wife and I thought it was a joke at first, the fact I’m over 40 and old enough to be the kids dad who asked for my ID is just comical.
I know a few people back in my day who would have a fake ID so I understand some hesitation, however I never known anyone under 21 who would get a fake ID that says they are 40, most stay in 20s to make it believable.
Been here a few times, not a bad place at all. I dig the atmosphere and the music, as well as the football games and am a fan of the $2 drafts and wells during Thursday nights. However, I don't see why it's necessary that the seats need to be removed during those hours. They were all stacked against the wall the last Thursday night I went. Where is anyone supposed to sit?
Tourists and out of town folk beware to not come here. My husband and I tried to come grab a drink and play pool at about 4 pm on a Saturday. The place was very quiet not many people inside, when we walked in a bouncer who was maybe 20 himself asked us for ID. We are clearly over drinking age 35 and 41, we presented our Ontario drivers licences and we’re denied? I actually thought he was joking at first. We were told they don’t accept out of state ID… in a tourist area…and we needed our passports…Needless to say we happily took our money elsewhere. We ended up at the place literally right next door called the wreck. If you look at the other reviews this seems to be a common issue with the establishment.
I am actively serving this Country and because I don’t have belt loops on my shorts I can’t get in.. we are on the beach, what a joke.
Update: I came back a couple weeks later (wearing belt looped shorts with a belt) I had to also show about 3 forms of ID to get in including my Military ID and took my hat off to prove it was me, I’m just gonna be honest here and say it’s not that serious and there is an entire strip of better bars surrounding this one with cheaper drinks so If you look younger and your persistent on going to this bar bring every form of ID you own including your birth certificate and SSN and wear Khaki pants with a belt and a tucked in Polo shirt and you might get in.
Went to go close my tab the night of August 23rd and asked for an itemized receipt. Was told by the female bartender that the only way I could see an itemized receipt is if we used a card (????????), so I said ok we will use a card. I check the receipt and there’s 2 shots that I didn’t order - definitely not a big deal. I tell her this and she goes and talks to the male bartender, who comes over and she walks away. He tells me it was somebody that I was with who put it on my tab, when I asked what they looked like, he shrugged and said I don’t know she rang them in. Also when they brought me the new receipt, they charged the card on file rather than the first one they charged. She definitely made a mistake with the shots and decided to blame it on somebody else… and the no itemized receipt until after you cash out is just hilarious to me. Was my first experience here and it was pretty laughable to be honest.
Get rid of the DJ that plays Party In The USA on repeat then this place would be the best bar at Jax beach! I’ve been going to the beach bars since I was 21 and all the other bar music is just 100000x better. I feel bad for the bartenders because they listen to the same 3 songs every single night.
Bouncers were nice and understanding but they currently have a weird dress code rule for men. Shorts MUST have belt buckles but NO belt. Weird considering the bar is right off the beach and a lot of guys are able to wear swim shorts as regular shorts. Hopefully they’ll change this soon because it seemed like a fun place!
This was the third bar I had went to with my friend and I had been showing my military ID all night with no problems until this bouncer told me that he couldn't let me in without my sponsor aka my husband. This makes absolutely no sense to me this place is honestly trash if they are going to treat military spouses like this.
